What is PDR?

PDR stands for Paintless Dent Repair. It is the process of repairing damaged body panels without the need for conventional repair. The procedure consists of getting behind the damaged area and slowly massaging the panel with specialize tools until the panel is restored to pre-accident condition. This technique leaves the factory paint intact.

In traditional repair, the paint is sanded or grinded down to bare metal so that the dent can be filled with body filler such as bondo, putty or glaze. When the body work is completed, the vehicle continues to the paint shop for a coat of primer. After the primer dries, the panel is wet sanded for a clean flat surface, multiple body panels are taped to prevent over spray. From there the car is sent to the paint booth for brand new paint. Once the paint work is completed the vehicle undergoes detail work and inspection.

In the PDR profession the vehicles are usually repaired in a day or less. The vehicle doesn’t need to be repainted or sanded down for body filler, thus eliminating problems with color matching. The value of the vehicle does not depreciate and the structural integrity remains intact.

Choosing PDR ultimately reduces repair time, cost and more importantly maintains the original structure of the panel and paint. No need to drop off your car at the bodyshop and suffer waiting days for completion. Call now for an estimate!
